Albert Allen Becconsall, a devoted patriarch and proud veteran, passed away peacefully at the age of 93. He leaves behind a rich legacy of service, love, and family.
A Life of Service and Family
Albert proudly served his country in the United States Navy, as a Radio Operator, from 1950-1953. He achieved the rank of RMSN. This period of service shaped his character and instilled in him a deep sense of duty and discipline that he carried throughout his life.
Following his military service, Albert worked as an aircraft machinist, here on Long Island. He was proud to say that he made parts for the Lunar Excursion Module, which landed on the moon.
While still in the service, Albert married at a young age and embarked on his greatest role: that of a father. This early marriage ended in divorce. He then met Patricia, who became his beloved wife until her passing in 2001. They raised a large and loving family of nine children: Steven, Barbara, Karen, Janice, Clair, Albert, Deborah, Jamie, and Jay.
He is survived by his devoted children: Barbara, Karen, Janice, Clair, Jamie, and Jay. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia, and his children Steven, Albert, and Deborah. Albert also was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dorothy; his sisters, Dottie and Jean, and his brother, Robert.
Albert's unwavering love extended through the generations. He liked to tell everyone about his “34 direct descendants.” His 9 children, 13 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren brought immense joy to his later years.
Albert was a people person. He enjoyed telling stories and jokes to his friends and especially his grandkids. He loved music, instilling the same love in his children from a young age. Albert also loved baseball - watching it and collecting, buying, and selling baseball cards with his brother, Robert.
Albert Allen Becconsall will be remembered for his strength, his dedication to his country, and the deep love he held for his expansive family. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
