Chiuchiolo, Alfred J., of Patchogue, N.Y. on December 22, 2019 in his 96th year. Beloved husband of Rose Marie. Loving father of Roseann Callister and Eva Tarantino and her husband Angelo. Cherished grandfather of Joseph Tarantino and his wife Colette, Michael Tarantino and his wife Jillian, Nicholas Callister, and Lisa Callister. Beloved Great Grandfather of Ella Tarantino and Gianna Tarantino.

Mr. Chiuchiolo was a distinguished leader in many local community organizations. He was past chairman of Brookhaven Memorial hospital, serving on its board for over 30 years from its inception in 1956. In 1991, the Nassau-Suffolk Hospital Council honored him with the distinguished and coveted Theodore Roosevelt (TR) Award in 1991, which is given to outstanding volunteers in non-profit hospitals. He also served on the board and as President of the Patchogue-Medford School District, President of the Patchogue Kiwanis Club, and President of the Patchogue Chamber of Commerce, which inducted him into their Hall of Fame in 1987. He was also very active in the Patchogue Business Improvement District and was instrumental in negotiating with United Artists to purchase the Patchogue Theater, which began the revitalization of the downtown Village of Patchogue.

A graduate of Patchogue High School, Class of 1941, he continued his education at St. John’s University in Brooklyn, after having served three years in military service in World War II. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal while serving in the European Theatre of Operations with the United States Army Air Corps.

His business career included service as an Accounting Division Supervisor at Brookhaven National Laboratory; Principal and Founder of George’s TV and Appliances. He then expanded his career by organizing a National Buying Appliance Cooperative. He was a principal of the Louis Cario Insurance Agency and held a New York State General Insurance License. He also owned and operated a rental appliance and furniture company in his later years.

He will be reposing at Moloney’s Holbrook Funeral Home, 825 Main St., Holbrook, NY, where a religious service will be held Friday Evening, December 27, 2019. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 28th, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Snow in Blue Point. A Committal Service will be held at Mother Theresa Tribute Center, located in Lake Ronkonkoma. Cremation will follow at the Nassau-Suffolk Crematory. Burial to follow in the Spring.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Long Island Community Hospital (a/k/a Brookhaven Memorial Hospital) in Alfred Chiuchiolo’s name.
