Alice Marie Eck of Lake Ronkonkoma, New York, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026, at the age of 84, surrounded by the love of her family as she began her journey home to heaven. Alice was born in Queens, New York, on February 10, 1942, to Ann and Edward Fish, Alice grew up anchored by deep family roots. On July 10, 1965, she married the love of her life, George Eck. Together, they moved to Lake Ronkonkoma in 1969, where they raised their four sons and built a beautiful life grounded in love, faith, and partnership across six treasured decades.
Alice lived a life defined by quiet strength, steady faith, and deep compassion for everyone around her. She found immense joy in the simple pleasures, most of all baking cookies with her grandchildren. An avid knitter, an art lovingly passed down by her mother, she crafted countless handmade blankets for those she held dear. Above every role she held, her proudest title and greatest joy was being "Nanny."
Alice was predeceased by her beloved husband, George; her cherished sons, Robert "Bobby" and William "Billy"; her brothers, Edward, Frank (Marge), James, Charles, and George; and her sister, Ann.
Her rich legacy of love lives on through those who survive her: her devoted sons, Carl (Sandra) and Edward (Missy); her daughter-in-law, Debbie; her sister, Marilyn (Mike); and her sisters-in-law, Joan, Anne, and Jan. She remains forever adored by her grandchildren, Tyler (Laura), Justin (Katelyn), Mikaela, Jamie, Aidan, Hazel, and Henry, as well as her newest blessing, her great-granddaughter, Josie.
While Alice has been called home to be reunited with those who went before her, the unconditional love, gentle spirit, and lasting memories she created will remain forever in our hearts.
