Andrew “Andy” Nick

Hauppauge – Andrew “Andy” Nick, age 90, of Hauppauge, NY, Passed away on December 15, 2023. he was born on February 15, 1933, in Brooklyn, New York to the late Angelo and Victoria Nick. Andy was proceeded in death by his beloved wife, Carol Nick, his sister, Beatrice Grano and his brother Ernest Nick.

Andy proudly served his country as an army paratrooper in the 187th airborne, dedicating, three years of active service during the Korean War. He was known for his extreme work ethic and leadership skills, earning him the nickname the machine among his colleagues. Andy’s dedication and expertise led him to a successful 40 year career as a master flooring foreman where he was revered by his colleagues. In his free time, Andy loved fishing and playing card games, Blackjack was his favorite. He had a zest for life and enjoyed being socially involved in all activities, whether it was dancing on the dance floor, or lending a helping hand, and he always exhibited a wide smile.
Family was of utmost importance to Andy and he cherished his role as a father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his loving children, Lorraine and Gary Ranftle, Robert and Roxanne Nick, his cherished grandchildren Jessica, Adams, Lindsey Stevenson, Kyle Nick, Taylor Ranftle, Andrew Ranftle,and great grandchildren Jackson Adams, Harper Adams, Willow Stevenson and Quinn Stevenson and his dear sister, Loretta, Daniggelis.

A memorial service will be held at Maloney‘s funeral home in Hauppauge. The wake will take place on December 18, 2023 from 3 PM to 8 PM. Funeral services will continue at the funeral home on December 19, 2023 from 9 AM to 10:30 AM followed by a military service at Calverton national cemetery at 11 AM.
