Angelo Fraccalvieri, December 8, 1931-April 23, 2026 was born on a farm in Northport, LI to parents Louise (LeRose) and Philip. As a child, he grew up in Hempstead. He was the last surviving member of a distinguished family of 8 children with brothers John, Peter, Frank, and Jimmy and sisters Agnes, Eleanor and Anna predeceasing him.
As a child following his father’s untimely death when he was 11, he began to help his mother earn extra money to keep the family home by picking beans and doing odd jobs in the neighborhood. He attended Catholic School until the 8th grade, and then public high school.
Following graduation, he worked as an electrician, and had a brief stint in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, but was discharged due to a bad back. He was hired by NY Telephone Company in 1955 and worked in its employ until 1988 completing 33 years of meritorious service. He often joked that he was retired longer than he actually worked neglecting the years he worked diligently as a young child. During his tenure with NYTC, he worked in myriad capacities eventually rising to the rank of foreman working out of the St. James garage.
He married twice. Once to Virginia Pascale and to Joan McGill (Moran) who predeceased him in 2022. Together he and Joan built a beautiful life for themselves by traveling and enjoying visits with friends and family. Angelo savored Joan’s cooking particularly her Italian dishes, and anything else that didn’t contain peppers and onions!
In his leisure time, he enjoyed hunting, gardening, playing guitar and was an avid sportsman. He played on his company’s softball team in many divisions and delighted in giving the younger opponents a run for their money. He reveled in the competitiveness and camaraderie with his coworkers and prided himself on keeping fit active. Anyone who knew him was aware he could fit into his clothing from high school – even at 94!
He loved landscaping and delighted in the compliments he received from friends and family on the pristine nature of his lawn and flower beds. Additionally, he had an uncanny ability of being able to construct almost anything from scratch, and fix anything in need of repair.
He is survived by his loving family of seven children: Chip (Robyn), Diane (Adam), Peggy, JoAnn (Dave), Jimmy (Susan), Kimberly (Tom), and Paul (Lawrence). His grandchildren: Heather, Diane Marie, Amanda, Andrew, Kiera, Vanessa, Cooper, Chase, Siena, Jarrett, Jillian, Dillon, Keith, James, and 11 great grandchildren.
