Ann B. Ahrens Chiuchiolo was born on June 9, 1938 in Astoria. New York to her ever-adoring parents Harry and Gladys Ahrens. She was the fourth of nine children.
Ann went on to marry Albert G. Chiuchiolo, a National Guardsman and New York Telephone Company employee who was born in East Harlem, New York to Italian immigrants.
The couple had five children: the late Albert G. Jr. (Susan), Alayne Tracy (Jack), Annie Stone (William), Anthony (Valerie) as well as Andrea Barth (Craig). Ann is also survived by grandsons, Sean Tracy, Christopher Stone (Sarah), Matthew, Nicholas and Dominick Chiuchiolo and granddaughters, Samantha Tracy and Rylie Barth as well as great-grandchildren William and Elia Stone.
Ann’s siblings included Harry T. Ahrens, Jr., Mary Lynch, Gladys Tackas, Dorothy Kurth, Martha Becker, Laura Riscen, Jean DeNoia Barricko and Elaine Crupe. Also, many surviving nieces and nephews who have very fond and fun memories of her.
Ann’s father, a Democratic leader would recruit Ann and Al to campaign with him for the Dem candidates including John F. Kennedy. They also supported her father in his Chairman’s duties for the Knights of Columbus.
Ann was a beauty who loved to dance, loved music and to socialize. She was meticulous about her appearance, her home and her children. She was a wonderful cook and a very loving person. Her family will miss her dearly.
