Antonio Mario Pagan “AKA  Anthony or Tony” passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026 at the age of 94 surrounded by family and loved ones.

Born on January 12, 1932 in Italy, Anthony was the beloved son of Ida and Antonio Pagan. He grew up in Italy, immigrating to the United States in the 1950’s with his parents and two brothers Joe and Frank and settled on Long Island in Center Moriches. Before coming to the United States Anthony studied morse code in school but he dedicated his career to Newsday for more than 30 years working all over the East end of Long Island. He was known for his dedication and commitment to his work and his family.

Anthony enjoyed boating, fishing, clamming in the bay and scuba diving. He spent many happy hours in his true passion for woodworking, building model replicas of historic ships. Above all this, was his love for family and friends who he always made time for and spent countless hours enjoying the moment. He was a rare gem, a one of a kind, with an exceptional outlook on life and an unsurpassed sense of humor. Anthony was very much a patriarch to the family and a historian of his family roots originating in Europe. He cherished and maintained family and friend ties around the world and touched so many lives even in his final days.

Anthony is survived by his loving partner Virginia Lefebvre-O’Shea of 19 years, her two children Eddie Cettina (his wife Melissa Cettina and their children), Michelle Cettina (and her husband George Typhair) who he regarded as his own, his brother Frank Pagan and wife Christa (of Florida) and their children, his sister-in-law Marky Pagan (of California) and children, his niece Michelle Pagan Falkosky, her husband Joe their children (of South Carolina) and all of his cousins around the world who he cherished dearly.

Anthony is preceded in death by his father and mother Antonio Pagan and Ida (Cettina) Pagan, his wife Jeanne Pagan  and his brother Joe Pagan who is survived by his wife Marky Pagan and children.

We will gather to honor Anthony Pagan with a Mass Ceremony and a scattering of ashes, with a celebration of life in the coming weeks.

Anthony will always be remembered for his sense of humor, passion for life, brilliant mind, love of the sea and his ability to make everyone feel like an instant friend. His love, laughter, and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
