Arlene L. Oliveri, 81, of Chandler, AZ passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 surrounded by family. Born in Queens, NY to Arthur and Meta, Arlene loved to ride over the Kosciuszko Bridge, going to the World’s Fair and going to LaGuardia Airport and watch the planes come in and take off.
She was pre-deceased in death by her sister Dorothea Rhodes and is survived by her husband, Dr. Tony Oliveri, her children, Christine, Steven and Suzanne, her Step Children, Joey, Julia and Anthony Jr., her grandchildren, Andrew, Christopher, Samantha, Bryanna, Anthony and Amanda, her great grandchildren, David, Cece and Amelia, and her sister Ruth Jessup.
Arlene worked at New York Life with her sister Ruth and brother-in-law Ted, and at a Prominent Law Firm as a collection specialist. After graduating from Dowling College, with a Bachelor of Science, she worked as a Substitute Teacher and eventually worked alongside her husband in his dental practice.
Arlene and Tony recently celebrated 44 years of marriage and enjoyed cruising together, going to dinner dances and the MG Car Club.
Arlene’s children meant the world to her. As a stay at home Mom during their early school years she was involved with many of their extracurricular activities and volunteered in the Community whenever possible. She also took time out to make many of their clothes.
Although she enjoyed entertaining, Arlene’s favorite role was being a grandparent/great grandparent. She treasured their time together. She loved being their Grandma, Nana and Gigi. She especially liked to color, read and watch movies with them.
Arlene cherished her friends and they often sat in church together, attended bible study and enjoyed luncheons especially during her birthday month.
Everyone who knew Arlene knows how much she loved ceramics. She was so talented and made so many beautiful pieces for family and friends. She was on numerous bowling leagues and loved to sing with the German Club.
Arlene will always be remembered for her twinkling eyes and dazzling smile and she was always dressed meticulously with color and accessories from head to toe. She was a fashionista for sure.
We could not ask for a better spouse, parent, grandparent, great grandparent, sister or friend and we will miss Arlene every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.
