Arthur F Timpanaro

d. August 31, 2025

Arthur F. Timpanaro, 70, a resident of Port Jefferson since 2001, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by love and his family, on August 31, 2025. Taken too soon, Arthur is survived by his loving wife Laura, and his beautiful daughters Kayla and Ava, who were the joy of his life. His sister, Nancy Timpanaro and Norman Martin of California, brother John Timpanaro and wife Joanne of Long Island, sister Emilia and husband John Beato in memoriam, mourn his loss.

Born on Christmas Eve, Arthur embodied the spirit of Christmas in both his generosity and playful nature. He loved wearing red, and high tops with jingle bells, singing and dancing along to big band music and classic crooners, making us all smile as we decorated enormous Christmas trees in our living room and baked exotic cookies.

Arthur had the eye of an artist. Seeing the beauty in nature around us he photographed flowers, sunsets and waterscapes, capturing life’s most sacred and precious moments especially enjoying photographing weddings and family portraits. His work graces the walls of hundreds of local families and is a monument to all he achieved in his art. From the moment he held his first Brownie camera as a child to the last days of his life, Arthur was planning a photo shoot, to capture a memory, to preserve it forever.

Arthur enjoyed the great outdoors and spent time kayaking and riding mountain bikes through twisting trails. He was a kite enthusiast who loved sending his kites “soaring to the highest heights.” The last movie he watched days before he left us was his favorite, Mary Poppins. He sang the ending song, “Let’s go fly a kite,“ loudly with enthusiasm for the sentiment it presented. Now, Arthur is soaring with his beloved kites, through the sky, up though the atmosphere, up where the air is clear. We will never forget his keen intelligence, his amazing ability to remember details from the earliest years of life which he would share readily, and his ability to make us smile with a joke, a random quote, a silly dance or the way he could roll a quarter over the knuckles of his hand.

Arthur, you made us see the world in new ways, we loved you with all of our hearts and will never forget you. We are going to miss you so much.
