Barbara Ann Jones Smith, 86, passed away at her home on Saturday, July 16, 2022, after a lengthy illness. A service is planned for later this week at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, New York.
Born in San Angelo, Texas, to the late Clarence and Alva Jones, Mrs. Smith was a mail carrier in New York. She was a Christian, loved Nature, and a member of the National Audobon Society. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and crocheting.
She is survived by her children, Frederick Smith (Karen), Joel Smith, and Maria Lechtrecker (Gary); grandchildren, Tara, Tim, Sabrina, Heather, Samantha and Michael; several great grandchildren; brother, Wayne Jones (Wanda Jane);and a sister, Wanda Lou Rohm. She is preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Frederick Smith.
