Bisharah G. Bisharah, 67, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, at South Shore Hospital in Bay Shore, NY, after a courageous battle with ALS.
Born on November 2, 1958 in Cairo, Egypt, Bisharah was one of four children in his family, alongside Bedour Gendy, Sawsan Gendy, and Ashraf Bisharah. There, at a young age, he began one of his greatest passions and developed a lifelong love of soccer. He played for Zamalek soccer club during his youth. After fulfilling military service in Egypt, playing soccer for the Egyptian military team, he emigrated to the United States of America around age 21 seeking opportunity and a better life. Once established in NY, he continued playing soccer competitively with both a Greek and an Italian team in NYC. He was a devoted supporter of Manchester City F.C. and rarely missed a match.
His professional career as a Building Superintendent began when he encountered a friend from Egypt on 42nd Street in Manhattan. Thereafter he began employment and dedicated more than 40 years of loyal service to Berik Management, where he was respected for being reliable, adaptable and dependable. His problem solving skills and superior work ethic often transcended the workplace and he was able to offer assistance to family, friends, associates, his church community, neighbors, acquaintances as well as those in need of a helping hand.
A faithful member of St. Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Church, he attended service nearly every Sunday and frequently volunteered with youth soccer on weekends. Even after he lost the ability to walk, he remained steadfast in his faith, attending services virtually when he could no longer be physically present. His belief in God provided him with additional strength to cope with his challenging health condition.
He was married for 40 beautiful years to his beloved wife, Blanca Bisharah. Her unwavering devotion and tireless care throughout the years long illness reflected a love that was deep and enduring. Together they built a life centered on family, faith, sacrifice and commitment.
He is survived by his loving wife, Blanca; his daughters, Stephanie Bisharah and Jennifer Eagen, and her husband, William Eagen; and his cherished grandchildren, Alexandra (4) and Elijah (2), who were a great source of joy in his life. He is also remembered with love by his stepchildren Liz Calderon, Nicholas Calderon, and Angela Catalina Calderon, as well as his siblings Bedour Gendy, Sawsan Gendy, and Ashraf Bisharah.
Bisharah will be remembered as devoted, selfless and deeply loving individual whose faith and courage were reflective of a life well lived. Even on his final day, he remained concerned with the comfort and well being of others. His greatest happiness was found in spending time with his grandchildren, whom he adored beyond measure, and with his wife, whom he loved deeply.
