Bridget DiVittorio, 97, of Brentwood, passed away September 7, 2023, with her family by her side.
She married the late Joseph DiVittorio in 1954, and they lived together in Brooklyn for seventeen years before he passed. Bridget is survived by her two children, Phyllis and Gina and their spouses. She is also survived by her four granddaughters and seven great-grandchildren.
Despite the losses of her husband and her parents in 1972, she lived a full life. Bridget was a strong independent woman during an era that persistently attempted to hold a woman down. A time when women were always told they can’t, she said “oh yes I can, watch me!”
Bridget’s stories were inspiring and full of classic New York moments. She always had a no-nonsense attitude and “I do what I want” mantra.
She lived a long, joyful life, full of laughter and happiness. Bridget was the matriarch of her family and they will continue to honor her strength and legacy. She will be deeply missed.
