Catherine L. Burns

Catherine L. Burns, 73, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and kindness that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Born on March 10, 1953, in Glendale, New York, Catherine spent most of her life in Howard Beach, where she built a beautiful life centered around family, friendship, and community. She was the beloved wife of the late James F Burns.

Catherine was a devoted mother to her three daughters, Christina, Bernadette, and Jaclyn, who were the pride and joy of her life. She was a cherished grandmother to Anthony, Nicolette, Salvatore, James, and Jack, and was eagerly anticipating the arrival of another grandchild. Her family was her greatest blessing, and she found her deepest happiness in the time spent together, especially during their many treasured trips to the Bahamas.

She worked for many years at Russo’s on the Bay, where her warmth and dedication touched countless lives. Catherine also had a special place in her heart for helping others, particularly through her involvement with Angels on the Bay where she proudly sat on the Board for many years. Her compassion and generosity made a lasting difference in her community.

Catherine will be remembered for her loving spirit, her strength, and her unwavering devotion to her family.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her daughters, grandchildren, sisters, extended family, and many dear friends.

Her love will remain a guiding light in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
