Christine Caraher

Christine R. Caraher, a resident of Bohemia, NY, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026, at the age of 81. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and her presence will be deeply missed.

Born on December 16, 1944, in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Christine Pauly and the oldest of four siblings.

Christine is survived by her two sons, William H. Caraher III (AnnMarie) of New Fairfield, CT, and David T. Caraher (Erin) of East Patchogue, NY; and her beloved grandchildren, Braedi, Keily, Benjamin, and Courtney. Christine was predeceased by her husband and best friend, William H. Caraher, Jr.

Christine was a wonderful baker and known for her seasonal pies and assorted Christmas cookies. She was also an avid reader, spending a lot of her time at the local library where she replenished her book supply and attended events. She could always be found at home on her couch with a stack of paperback novels by her side.

Christine’s greatest joy was being a mom to her two sons. She was extremely proud of them both and this love grew even bigger though her grandchildren. She often talked about them with great pride and affection.

Friends and family will be received from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Moloney’s Bohemia Funeral Home, 1320 Lakeland Avenue, Bohemia, NY 11716. Interment will take place privately.
