Clifford Bennett of Holbrook, New York passed away peacefully on April 26, 2024 after a brave battle with Alzheimer's Disease. He was 87 years old.
For thirty-two years, Cliff served in two Long Island public school systems, initially in the Island Trees Science Department as teacher, department chairperson and coach. The majority of his public-school service was in Patchogue-Medford, where he served as high school assistant principal, middle school principal and as Director of Student Support Services, Special and Health Education.
After retirement, Cliff served as adjunct assistant professor of education and field supervisor of student teachers at Dowling College for ten years.
Cliff presented workshops at national, state and local levels on prevention of self-defeating behaviors, stress management, personal growth and wellness. Additionally, he published numerous articles on educational and mental health in professional journals.
In his leisure time he enjoyed spending time at his winter home in Estero, Florida. He also enjoyed reading, writing, golfing, fishing, hunting and gardening.
He is survived by Judy, his loving wife of 44 years, and four children: Brian, Cynthia Reisert (Eric), Bruce (Lynda) and Susan Liskowicz (Robert), as well as eight grandchildren and his sister-in-law, Felicia Kalish.
Private funeral services have been entrusted to Moloney's Holbrook Funeral Home.
