Daniel F. Shea III, 88, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, surrounded by the love and memories of a life well lived.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Daniel was raised in Lindenhurst, where he spent his early years before proudly serving his country in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1958. His time in the Navy reflected the dedication, strength, and sense of duty that would define him throughout his life.
In 1961, Daniel married the love of his life, Geraldine. Together they built a beautiful life and family, raising three wonderful children: Danny, Donna, and Kelli. Their marriage was one filled with love, laughter, and devotion for nearly six decades.
In the mid-1990s, after their children were grown and married, Daniel and Geraldine moved out east, where they enjoyed many happy years together. They remained side by side until the passing of his beloved wife in 2020.
Daniel’s greatest joy was his family. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to 11 grandchildren and a loving great-grandfather to 14 great-grandchildren. He cherished every moment spent with them and took immense pride in the generations that followed him.
A true patriarch, Daniel was the heart of his family. His strength, guidance, humor, and love created a legacy that will live on through those who knew and loved him. He lived a full and meaningful life surrounded by family and friends, and his presence will be deeply missed.
Daniel leaves behind a family that will continue to honor his memory and the values he instilled in them. Though his absence will be felt for generations, so too will the love and legacy he leaves behind.
