Dennis Gilbride, 71, of Centereach, New York, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday November 26, following a long illness.
Dennis was born on December 14, 1951 to Patrick and Rita Gilbride in Brooklyn, NY. He attended Valley Stream South High School and went onto study Business at Bergen Community College and Computer Programming at NYU’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business. He spent 15 years as Vice President of Business Development at RRS Title and 37 years as a partner with DPL Systems, Inc. Dennis retired in 2017. When he wasn’t working at the office, he could be found on the golf course or playing one of his many guitars.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Paula (Grasso) Gilbride, and two brothers, Kevin (MaryLou) Gilbride and Tom (Diane) Gilbride. His most proud accomplishments were his two daughters, Lauren (Tim) Roberti and Colleen (Greg) Macksoud, as well as his four beloved grandchildren who knew him as “B-Pa,” Timmy and James Roberti and Genevieve and Patrick Macksoud. His grandchildren were the light of his eye and kept his soul alight the last six years.
Dennis was predeceased by his parents and brother, Tim Gilbride.
Visiting hours will be held Monday, December 4th, 2023 at Moloney Funeral Home, located at 840 Wheeler Road, Hauppauge, New York, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, December 5th at 11:15 AM at St. Patrick’s Church in Smithtown, New York.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dennis’ memory can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
