Diane Angela Macaluso, born Diane Angela Adorno in Astoria New York 0n May 8th 1944 Passed away suddenly but peacefully at her home in Selden NY on March 27th , 2026. She was 81 years old. Diane was a beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother as well as the beloved wife of Victor Macaluso until his passing in 2021.
Diane was always a working mom with a long career as a bookkeeper, accountant, and financial officer. Her loyalty and tireless efforts in both her professional and personal life is something truly extraordinary.
Diane is the person who was always ok to let others shine while she did the heavy lifting. When others were in need or fell ill, she was there always and unconditionally.
What made Diane the happiest in life?
Grandsons and Great Grandsons, by far the greatest days of her life were the ones spent with her boys. The biggest smiles and loudest laughter were heard during those special visits. There is not a wall or flat surface in Diane’s homes that you won’t find a photo of, or reference to “Her Boys” This was her greatest joy.
The Adorno family, this was her anchor, her older siblings Joseph and Maryelaine were her greatest support and best friends, especially as everyone became older. Her sisters Denise and Vivian were both taken from her way too soon and their friendship greatly surpassed the fact that they happened to be sisters. The countless friends, cousins, nieces/nephews, and all the crowded holiday celebrations are what she truly lived for.
The Beach, specifically any North Shore LI beach. No beach anywhere on the planet was better than the North Shore to her. The calmness and comfort she found there could not be duplicated anywhere else. The memories we all have of her there will live forever.
Diane survived by:
Brother Joseph Adorno and sister Maryelaine Hoffman. Daughter, Toni-Ann and husband Allen Ferrari. Son Victor and wife Nina Macaluso. Grandson Vincent and wife Katherine Ferrari. Great Grandsons Carter and Cayden Ferrari. Grandsons Christopher Ferrari, Eric and Steven Macaluso.
Diane is predeceased by her husband Victor, Sisters Vivian and Denise, and grandson Nicholas Ferrari.
