Dolores A Neuberger

d. December 16, 2023

Dolores Neuberger
September 6, 1948- December 16, 2023
Dolores Neuberger, age 75, of Ridge, New York, passed away on December 16, 2023 surrounded by her family.
Loving Wife of Christian;
Beloved Mother of Kristen (Jim), Christian (Arlene) and Kimberly (Christopher); Doting Grandmother of Emily (Brendan), Jimmy (Rebekka), Caroline, Billy, Caiden, Marah and Khai; and Devoted Great-Grandmother to Rylen, Mason, Mary Rose, Nora Grace and eagerly awaiting the arrival of her fifth great-grandchild due next year.
Dolores held several positions over the years. From the computer lab at Brookhaven National Laboratory (where, notably, she met her husband of 51 years) to deli clerk at King Kullen. However, the most salient jobs she ever held were that of Wife, Mother, Grandmother and, most recently, Great Grandmother.
She loved to cook for her family. Unfortunately, she never wrote down any of her recipes so now the family is tasked with recreating her famous dishes like Spanish chicken and rice, macaroni and broccoli, pizza, pizza rolls, sausage stuffing, cucumber salad and macaroni salad.
The holidays were a special time. She started prepping weeks in advance and she always complained about how much work it was but she wouldn’t have had it any other way. After Thanksgiving dinner was over, she’d send the grandkids upstairs to pull down the Christmas tree and decorations. Christmas was her favorite holiday. She enjoyed watching Hallmark movies despite knowing the general plot movie after movie and, every year, every family member received a Hallmark ornament as a remembrance of the year gone by.
Dolores loved to visit her out of state family, that is, when she finally woke up from her deep slumber because she insisted she and Chris drive the 600-800 miles to get there.
Dolores had a great passion for reading. She particularly loved those James Patterson novels. She could devour a 300 page book in two days. She was well versed in all things Marvel and Star Wars and had zealous conversations with her youngest grandson about the most recent releases.
More than anything, Dolores loved her family and friends. If she wasn’t caring for her grandchildren or attending a school concert, dance recital,  marching band half-time show or cheer competition, she could often be found at the Rocky Point Diner, chatting and laughing over cups of decaf coffee with her dear friends.
Family and friends are invited to Moloney’s Funeral Home, 523 Route 112, Port Jefferson Station, New York on December 20, 2023 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm to reminisce, grieve together, support each other and, of course, just chat.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on December 21, 2023 at 10:30am, St. Mark’s Roman Catholic Church, 105 Randall Road, Shoreham, New York. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Coram, New York.
