Dorothy Pistritto, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on April 28, 1935, in Brooklyn, NY, Dorothy lived a life full of love and cherished memories. Dorothy is survived by her loving daughter Doreen and son-in-law James Schindler, her beloved sons James and daughter-in-law Nancy and Steve Pistritto, her cherished grandsons Matthew and granddaughter-in-law Lauren and Mark Pistritto, and her delightful great-grandchildren Luciano, Charles, and Ruth Pistritto. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Carmelo "Jim" and her grandson Michael Schindler. Dorothy also leaves behind her dear sister Joan Dwyer, with whom she shared countless memories.
In addition to her love for family, Dorothy enjoyed going out to shows and spending time at the horse track, creating joyful experiences that will be remembered by all who loved her.
Dorothy had a passion for sports, proudly showcasing her extensive collection of New York Yankees memorabilia. A devoted fan, she reveled in the thrill of the game and shared her enthusiasm with family and friends.
Dorothy Pistritto will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her love, laughter, and the joy she brought to everyone around her. Rest in peace, Dorothy.
