Dorothy Marilyn Scofield (August 19, 1954 – November 23, 2025)

Dorothy Marilyn Scofield, 71, of Holbrook, New York, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, following complications from recent cancer treatments.

Born on August 19, 1954, in New York City, she was the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Murtha) Scofield. Dorothy was a fixture at Stony Brook University, where she worked as an Admissions Counselor. She was fiercely loyal to her career, faithfully serving the university for over 45 years.

Dorothy will be remembered for her remarkable toughness and perseverance. She fought hard battles with multiple cancer diagnoses, and her continued and unique strength was always a great inspiration to the family and friends around her. Despite these challenges, she remained an incredibly generous person who always put her family first, wanting nothing more than their success and well-being.

Above all, she was a devoted mother and grandmother. She held a special bond with her granddaughter, Avery, and was ever-present at all of her major milestones and sports activities.

Dorothy is predeceased by Megan's father, Peter DiMiceli. Dorothy is survived by her loving daughter Megan Bianchi (Mike); her granddaughter Avery Glaser; her three sisters, Christine Scofield, Lynn Patterson (Raymond), and Judith Scofield. She is also lovingly remembered by her nieces Beth Dunbar (Brandon), Erin Suarez (Ray), Brittany Klein (Alex) and Ashley Patterson; and her grandniece and grandnephews Owen Dunbar, Patterson Dunbar, Kennedy Klein, Anderson Klein, and Lucas Suarez.

Dorothy was lovingly referred to as "Momo" by her family and many close family friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 28, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Moloney Family Funeral Homes in Holbrook. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church in Holbrook at 9:45 AM.
