Dr. Sheila Bagla lived a life defined by quiet strength, boundless compassion, and an unwavering dedication to others. A deeply humble soul, she gave freely of her time, her wisdom, and her heart-to her family, her patients, and all who were fortunate enough to cross her path.

Born in India to Moti Ram and Darshan Rani, Sheila carried the values of grace, service, and humility with her throughout her journey. After graduating from Maulana Azad Medical College, she began a lifelong mission of healing. As a gastroenterologist in the United States, she cared for countless patients not only with clinical excellence but with deep kindness and empathy. Her patients often said they felt truly seen and heard-because they were.

Sheila's true legacy lies in the love she gave. She was the heart of her family: a devoted wife to Dr. Sharwan Bagla, a nurturing and steadfast mother to Dr. Sangeeta Marwaha, Dr. Ritu Bagla, and Dr. Sandeep Bagla, and a joyful, doting grandmother to Kunal, Nisha, Surina, Anika, Sona, Brayden, Amiya, and Kiran. She was also a beloved mother-in-law to Don McKeown and Lori Bagla, welcoming them with the same warmth and generosity that defined her every relationship. Her presence brought comfort, her words offered wisdom, and her life inspired.

Even in the face of great personal trials-courageously overcoming pancreatic cancer and later confronting multiple myeloma-Sheila never sought recognition. She moved through life with quiet determination, always more concerned with the wellbeing of others than her own. Her humility was her power.

She taught those around her that strength could be soft, that service could be simple, and that a life well lived is one spent lifting others.

Funeral services will be held at Moloney's Lake Funeral Home, 132 Ronkonkoma Ave, Lake Ronkonkoma, NY 11779, on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
