It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Elizabeth K. Cagnetto, who left this world peacefully on August 31, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on September 10, 1947, in Astoria, New York, Elizabeth was a devoted daughter, mother, and grandmother, who devoted her life to her family and community. Elizabeth resided in Central Islip, NY, where she touched the lives of many with her kindness and unwavering spirit.
Elizabeth had a successful career as a bank manager at TD Bank in Smithtown, NY, where she was treasured by her coworkers and clients alike for her professionalism and warmth. Her commitment to service extended beyond her work; she was known for hosting lively family barbecues and creating cherished Thanksgiving memories that would be celebrated at her home, gathering her loved ones around her table.
An infectious New York Yankee fan, Elizabeth often found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including poker nights with friends and family, where her competitive spirit shined through. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and she was known for her devotion to prayer, seeking strength and solace in her beliefs.
Elizabeth is survived by her beloved family: her daughter Lisa Trail; her daughter Nicole (Lenny) Naujokas; her son, Michael (Michelle) Cagnetto; and her cherished grandchildren, Anthony Naujokas, Amanda Naujokas, Malik Trail, Sophia Cagnetto, Michael Cagnetto, and Olivia Cagnetto. She also leaves behind her faithful companion, her dog Buddy, who brought her great joy in her later years. Elizabeth is predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years, Ralph Cagnetto.
In honor of Elizabeth's memory and her generous spirit, the family requests that donations be made to the National Aphasia Association and The Parkinson's Foundation.
A visitation will be held on September 2, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Moloney's Lake Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
As we remember Elizabeth, we celebrate a life well-lived-a life devoted to family, faith, and the joy of sharing moments with loved ones. May she rest in peace, forever cherished in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
