Elizabeth R. Sluder (Olivari)

 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth R. Sluder on December 20, 2024, at the age of 72 after an 8-year battle with ovarian cancer. Born January 27, 1952, to Albert and Marie Olivari, she grew up in Hicksville, NY. After marrying now ex-husband, Richard Sluder, Elizabeth resided in Holbrook, NY where they raised their three children, James, Jillian, & Jennifer.

Elizabeth had many jobs over the years while also taking care of her children but ultimately landed in the position of an administrative assistant of HR for ADI in Melville, from which she retired in October of 2018.

 After retiring Elizabeth focused on her treatments and health while also spending time with her children and grandchildren. During this time, she became an active member of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition where her team, Liz’s Mouseketeals has raised well over $100k over the last 7 years. The team's name is inspired by Elizabeth’s love for Walt Disney World, and all things Disney.

 Elizabeth’s strength will always be admired and her love for her family and friends will never be forgotten.

 She is survived by her son James Sluder, daughters Jillian O’Brien and Jennifer Melecio, sons- in-law Corey O’Brien and Ethiel Melecio Jr., granddaughter Kayla Melecio, grandsons Travis O’Brien, EJ Melecio, and Cameron O’Brien, brothers Lawrence Olivari and Richard Olivari, sister Rosemary Olivari, sisters-in-law Irene Olivari and Sharon Olivari, and several loving nieces and nephews.
