Eugene "Gene" or “Big Gene” W. Campbell, 84, of Lake Grove, New York, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026.

Born on May 23, 1942, in Queens, New York, Gene was the beloved son of the late Eugene and Frances Campbell. He lived a life defined by love, honesty, hard work, and unwavering devotion to his family.

He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Tillie where together they built a home filled with love and cherished memories; his children, Debbie (Al), Gene (Shelly), and Dawn (John); his cherished grandchildren, Ryan, Erin, Sean, Kailey, and Justin; his sisters, Carol (Vinny) and Judy (Jeff); and many beloved sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. His family was everything to him and he often said how blessed he was.

A skilled carpenter foreman by trade, Gene was known for his exceptional craftsmanship, strong work ethic. He earned the admiration and respect of all who had the privilege of working with him.

Gene was also a lifelong New York sports fan who faithfully cheered on the New York Rangers, New York Mets, New York Giants, and New York Knicks. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Gene will be remembered for his kindness and devotion to his family along with his love, wisdom, generosity, integrity and morals. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and never forgotten. Forever loved, forever remembered, and forever in our hearts.
