Frederick Thomas White, a devoted family man, proud United States Navy veteran, and faithful servant of his community, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2026 at the age of 88.
Born on December 7, 1937, to the late Frederick and Victoria White in Woodside, NY, Fred graduated from the Manhattan High School of Aviation Trades before proudly serving his country in the U.S. Navy. Following his service, he settled in Farmingville, New York, where he and his wife built a warm home to raise their family. He spent the majority of his career as an aerospace engineer at Grumman Aerospace in Calverton, New York, contributing to pioneering advancements in naval aviation.
An avid nature lover, Fred cherished birdwatching, cultivating his vibrant garden, camping, and traveling. He was also a passionate sports fan who looked forward to watching Monday Night Football alongside his sons and close friends. He was a devout member of his church, where he was a Sunday School teacher and served on many committees. His kindness, warm smile, amazing sense of humor and steady presence will be deeply missed.
Fred shared a beautiful, lifelong marriage with his beloved bride, Agnes White. He was a dedicated father to his sons and is survived by Thomas and his wife Michele, William and his wife Patrice and his dear brother, Robert White.
His greatest joy was his grandchildren: Kevin and his wife Samantha, Ryan and his wife Victoria, Lucas and his wife Yixuan, Julia, and Thomas, and his great-grandchildren, Cecilia and Noah, all of whom brought immense light and laughter to his later years.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frederick’s memory to St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Lake Ronkonkoma, NY
