We’re heartbroken to announce the passing of Gary Steven Breitfeller, 60, who left us the morning of September 25, 2024. Gary was a selfless father, devoted husband, beloved son, and cherished friend to more than he ever realized.
Gary found joy in life’s simple pleasures: being around those he loved, having an excuse to grill, and the dogs he swore he wouldn’t take care of. For him, paradise was his home upstate, where he spent summer days with his favorite people and hunted in the woods each fall. He took pride in his housework and cracked jokes you’d never expect. He showed unwavering support for his children, attending soccer games, making emergency junk food runs, and showing up camera-first to every one of their significant milestones. If you knew him, there’s a good chance he has driven you somewhere before.
He is survived by his wife Kristin; children Tyler (Austin), Trevor, and Taylor (Ray); siblings Eleanor (Steve), Jane, Donna (Doug), Carol (Ed), and Mark (Gail); father-in-law Frank (Theresa); brother-in-law Philip (Angela); and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Gary’s warmth, spirit, and infectious smile will be missed terribly by all.
