Gary Elwood Haber

Gary Elwood Haber, age 75, was born in Queens, New York. He was the ultimate family man. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose kindness, warmth, strength, and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew him. Truly, to know Gary was to love him.

Gary spent 24 years working at Grumman Aerospace, where he served as a Lead Man, and later retired from BH Aircraft. He took great pride in his work and was respected for his dedication, skill, and reliability.

Gary shared 52 loving years of marriage with his wife, Joanna Haber, with whom he built a beautiful life and home. Together they created a backyard paradise that reflected Gary’s love of gardening and the joy he found in simple, meaningful moments spent with family. One of his greatest joys was spending time there with family, especially barbecuing together, laughing, and making memories that will be cherished forever.

He was a proud and loving father to Gary Haber and Jamie McIntosh, and a cherished father-in-law to Christina Haber and James McIntosh. Gary was an adoring grandfather to Cole and Callie McIntosh, and few things brought him more joy than watching Cole play ice hockey and cheering on Callie at her figure skating lessons.

Gary loved swimming in his pool, vacationing in St. Maarten, and going on cruises, always cherishing time spent with family and making lasting memories. He was a kind-hearted, loving man whose presence brought comfort, laughter, and a sense of home to those around him.

Gary will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
