Gasper James Colmone

February 18, 1944 – July 7, 2024

 Gasper J. Colmone – Born in Sicily, lived in Centereach N.Y. with his wife RoseMarie and two

children: Janine (Patrick) and Anthony (Janice). He was the proud and loving grandfather to 4

grandchildren: Miranda, Aidan, Rachel & Lea. Brother of Salvatore, Cathy (deceased) and Sadie

(deceased). He was beloved “Uncle Jimmy” to many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and

grandnephews. He was a true neighbor - always up to make or receive an unannounced visit for

a cup of coffee and friendly conversation.

Gasper arrived in New York City following a twenty one day journey from Sicily on July 7, 1954

at just 10 years old. He began as an apprentice and eventually made a career as a painter in

many of the finest hotels in NYC and was always willing to share his skills with family and

friends, blessing their homes with vibrant colors. His love of the outdoors was displayed in his

bountiful backyard garden and trips to the shore for crabs. Both pursuits created loving meals

at the dining room table and lasting memories for his wife, children and grandchildren."
