Geraldine M. Sheridan

d. Aug 27, 2026

Hauppauge, New York

It is with deep sadness and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of Geraldine M. Sheridan, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, artist, and friend whose love for her family and appreciation for the beauty of the world touched all who knew her.

Geri was born on November 18, 1933, in Brooklyn, New York, to The Late Jesse Westburgh and The Late Marion Flynn. Proud of her Irish heritage, Geri carried a deep appreciation for family, tradition, and the simple joys that made life meaningful.

Geri was the beloved wife of the late James T. Sheridan. Together they built a family in Hauppauge that remained the center of her world. She was the loving mother of Patricia Sheridan Baier and her husband, William, and James T. Sheridan Jr. and his wife, Cheryl Taborsky.

Known affectionately as Nanny, Geri was a cherished and loving grandmother to Meagan Linden and her husband, Connor; William Baier; and Zachary Sheridan.

Her grandchildren brought her tremendous joy, and she treasured the special memories they shared together. She was looking forward to becoming a great grandmother this coming fall.

Geri was also the dear sister of Jesse Westburgh, The Late Dolores Herzog and The Late Gene Westburgh.

A talented and creative artist, Geri found great joy in expressing herself through drawing, painting, and photography. She had a wonderful eye for beauty and a curiosity about the world around her.

Geri loved spending time with her family and friends in their summer home in Montauk. She also loved to travel and was fortunate to explore the magnificent national parks throughout the United States, from the breathtaking landscapes of Alaska to Montana, her favorite state. Her travels brought her countless adventures and memories that she treasured throughout her life. She was a proud patriot.

Above all else, Geri was dedicated to her loving family, who meant the world to her. She will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, the memories she created, her creative spirit, and the special place she held in the hearts of those who loved her.

Geri also leaves behind her beloved cat, Ruby, who was a cherished companion and brought her much comfort and joy.

Though she will be deeply missed, Geri’s love, spirit, and beautiful memories will forever remain in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
