It is with great sadness that we have to announce that Geralynn Marie Cook, 80 years old, of Farmingville, passed away on March 22,2024. Geralynn, born in Manhattan, was the beloved daughter of the late Thomas O. Markey and the late Eileen (Toomey) Markey, the cherished sister of Maureen Markey, Noel Markey and Danielle De Nardi. Geralynn was the devoted mother of Christopher Cook, Kimberly (Darrin) Lang, and Gregory (Jennifer) Cook and the loving Grandmother of Collette, Matthew, Owen, the late Mary Catherine, Timmy, Emily, Andrew, Lena, Abbie and little James. Geralynn grew up in Hewlett Point and Babylon Village, attending St. Raymond’s in East Rockaway, St. Joseph’s in Babylon, Queen of the Rosary Academy in Amityville and Farmingdale State College. Geralynn worked passionately for New York State, the majority of her career as a Senior Right-of-Way Agent in their Real Estate division. Geralynn was an advocate for many causes, most importantly to her, the Right to Life party. Geralynn was a fierce defender of her beliefs and will be missed by many including the IRS, bill collectors and many government and private entities that she chose to take on head to head.
A wake will be held for Geralynn Cook on April 5 th, 2024 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Moloney’s Funeral Home, located at 132 Ronkonkoma Ave. in Lake Ronkonkoma, NY.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on April 6 th at 9:30 am at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Lake Ronkonkoma. Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.
