Girolama Falcone (Gina) of Flushing, Queens, passed away on February 1, 2024, in the comfort of her daughter’s home. Born on June 11, 1939, in Castrofilippo, Sicily, Gina moved to Queens in her early twenties, where she met and fell in love with her husband of 57 years, Paul Falcone. Gina is famously known for her ability to grow anything in her backyard, turn any fabric into a masterpiece, and take over the kitchen. Gina loved spending time on her sewing machine while her husband would sit on the couch watching Italian TV, spending time with her grandchildren, and playing solitaire. What she loved the most, aside from her husband Paul, was her family, and she made sure everyone knew it. She is predeceased by both of her parents (Stefano and Calogera Cinquemani) and in-laws (Vincent and Giovanna Falcone), as well as her brother Pietro and her sister Maria. She is survived by her sister Luigina. She leaves behind her daughter: Jennie (Jeff) Abrams; her grandchildren Christina (Jason) Sadowsky, Gabriella Abrams (Nicholas DeFilippo), and Michael Abrams; and cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She will be missed dearly.
