Gordon C. Loh

Our Dad is a force of nature. He loved making people laugh, be it at their expense or his own. Always making you feel welcome and that you belonged.

He was never known as Mr. Loh, Gordon or Chuck’s Dad. He was Gordy to his friends,

Pops to all our friends and Grandpa to Andie and Mikey’s friends.

His love for his kids Kim & Andrew and Chuck & Sandy, Grandkids Mikey and Andie & Lane had no bounds. He especially loved his Grand and Great Grand puppies.

Pop was always open to the next best thing or hair brained idea. He bred German Shepherds when we were young. He single handedly supported the local card store purchasing Lotto numbers and buying scratch offs. A new gadget, 25 inch color T.V. with push buttons…we had it. HiFi stereo with phonograph, am / fm, cassette and 8 track…we had it. Cable T.V. ……we had it. The newest toys, bikes and games…..we had it.

You name it he got it first.

With 2 exceptions.

1. Chuck never got a real Big Wheel
2. Half the time we didn’t have a pot to piss in

Pop loved going to Pennsylvania every summer, seeing his friends, setting up parties and then telling Mom people were coming over in 2 hours.

If you needed help he was right there to help you, or tell Mom to help you. He was highly adept at giving orders and directions.

Pop enjoyed sculpting, drawing and was an avid reader. He especially enjoyed woodworking and was very talented. There was always a project he wanted to start and many he did…….

The ones he did finish will last a 1000 years. Can you say ‘Over engineered’?

We enjoyed many a road trip with the pop up camper. New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and even a stay at Disney’s Fort Wilderness the year after they opened.

The last 10 years have been to say the least hard for all of us.

Pop had many many medical and physical issues. He truly was a medical miracle and we were sure he was going to outlive all of us.

We even joked ‘Heaven didn’t want him and Hell was afraid he would take over’.

That was until our Mom Jo-Ann, the love of his life passed away.

Gordon C. Loh left us exactly 2 weeks and 4 hours after Mom passed.

I truly believe he passed away from a broken heart.
