We are saddened by the loss of our beloved mom, Grace McGarvey. Grace passed away at the age of 95 on March 9, 2026 at Maria Regina in Brentwood, New York.
Born on May 18, 1930 in Middle Village, New York, a daughter of The Late Anastasia & Frank Otremba.
Grace loved being with family and friends, especially the annual Otremba picnics and Christmas parties where aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends would come.
At a dance, Grace met her future husband, William (Bill) T. McGarvey. They married on January 8, 1955. They lived in Middle Village and had four children, Karen, Ann Marie, William Jr. and Dennis. Late, Grace and Bill moved to Mineola. Then they retired to Pinellas Park, Florida where they enjoyed picnics in the parks. Grace loved going to ceramics with two of her sisters, Dorothy and Virginia.
In additional to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, William McGarvey; two brothers, Frank and Bobby; three sisters, Gloria, Dorothy and Virginia.
Grace is survived by her four children; six grandchildren, Alyssa, Andrew, Eric, Andrea, Siri and Lacie; two great grandchildren, Liam and Ivy, along with many other family and friends who will greatly miss her.
A quote from Grace:
"I hope I left all of you with a little love, a little fun and special hugs."
As they planned, Grace was cremated and will be together with her beloved husband Bill in a double urn.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital in memory of Grace's name.
