Jack C. Pallatto
Longtime resident of Hauppauge, Long Island, New York
Passed away peacefully in his sleep.
Jack Pallatto, a true original and lifelong character, passed away leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and infamous storytelling. Born and raised in Hauppauge, Jack never strayed far from the place he called home—but he certainly made the most of it when he did, like the time he famously hitchhiked with his good buddy, Brian from New York to California and back.
Known for his charisma, making short stories long, and legendary ability to hold a grudge, Jack was the kind of man you didn’t forget. In high school he was voted most popular, most talkative, best personality, class flirt, and class wit—titles he proudly earned and enthusiastically rehashed to anyone within earshot.
He loved his children and grandchildren more than anything. His children, Rocco and Rachel, and his grandsons, Jameson, Rocco River, and Wesley Jack, knew without question how proud he was—often hearing about themselves through creatively enhanced tales told by Jack with love and flair.
Jack taught his family the true meaning of connection. Alongside their mom, he showed that while marriage may not last forever, love certainly does. Relationships across both sides of his children’s family remained strong, thanks to the unique and lasting impact Jack had on the people he cared about most.
He cherished time with others and found joy in life’s simple pleasures: “meditating”, Yankees games, Coca-Cola, flying kites, sunbathing, gardening, camping adventures, and entertaining friends and family.
Whether you knew him as the world’s slowest driver, the eternally late arriver, a never ending talker, the master of short-order cooking, the brother who couldn’t help being a pest, or the friend who might’ve put you on his list (at least once), you also knew he was a truly loving man, devoted to family, friends and fun.
Jack leaves behind his sisters Marie and Donna, brother Dominick, son Rocco, daughter Rachel, nieces Deana, Corey, and Marisa, nephew Danny, and grandsons Jameson, Rocco River, and Wesley Jack.
His wish for all of us is that we remember the laughs and love we shared. That’s how we’ll carry Jack forward—forever.
