James Ciano

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Ciano, of Farmingville, NY, a devoted family man, cherished friend, and successful business owner, who left us on April 27, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on April 12, 1952, in Brooklyn, NY, James touched the lives of many throughout his journey, making each moment count with his warm spirit and infectious laughter.

James was a loving father to his daughter, Marisa Ciano, and his son, Joseph (Lisa) Ciano. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Joseph Richard and Paul James, who held a special place in his heart. His brother, Ronald Ciano, and the mother of his children, Elizabeth Ciano, also mourn his loss. He also leaves behind his companion, Joanne Riva, who made his later years all the more joyful. James is predeceased by his son Robert, and his brother Richard.

James was well known in the sanitation industry as the owner of General Waste Services, where he dedicated his efforts to building a successful business. Outside of work, he found joy in life's simple pleasures, whether it was hitting the golf course, reveling in the music of Billy Joel, or spending quality time with his friends and family, who meant the world to him. A passionate New York Jets fan, James was often found at Howards Café, where his vibrant personality and knack for making any occasion special will be sorely missed.

James Ciano's legacy of love and laughter will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be remembered not just for his accomplishments but for the joy he brought to life's gatherings.
