James Cobb Jr.

James Cobb, Jr., beloved husband, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 16, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving a legacy of kindness, truth, enterprise, and diligence.

James was born on January 20, 1936, in Aurora, North Carolina to the late James Cobb, Sr. and Sadie Smith Cobb. The parents and children lived in Aurora, NC, and later moved from Aurora to Long Island. James was the second oldest of five children.

James met the love of his life, Dallas Gay, whom he married. They lived in Brentwood, NY, before moving to 31 Okane Street in Central Islip, where he lived for 59 1/2 years. He was well-respected in the neighborhood. James and Dallas worked side-by-side in their own Cleaning Business. James was a hard worker with an amazing work ethic and loved Dallas and his family.

James was preceded in death by his parents and brothers and sisters, Nancy, Mary, John, and Nathaniel. James leaves to cherish his memory: his loving, devoted wife, Dallas, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, next-door neighbors- the Brewingtons, friends, and business acquaintances.
