Jennifer A. Boyer was born on April 20, 1965, in Georgetown, to Samuel Boyer Sr. and Gloria Boyer. She was lovingly raised at 63 Cross Street, Werk-En-Rust Guyana, before migrating to the United States in 1985. Jennifer attended Saint Phillips All Age Anglican School, where she began forming the warm and vibrant spirit that so many would come to love.
After arriving in America, Jennifer resided in Brooklyn for two years before settling in Central Islip. It was there that she gave birth to her beloved son, Joseph Boyer, on November 22, 1995. Joseph was, and always will be, Jennifer’s pride and joy.
Despite the many challenges she faced with her heart condition and against medical advice, Jennifer remained determined, loving, and devoted to her family. She possessed a strength and resilience that inspired those around her. Jennifer was deeply loved by everyone who knew her.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Boyer Sr.; her grandmother, Carmen Boyer; and all loved ones who welcomed her into eternal rest.
Today, Jennifer leaves to cherish her loving memory her devoted son, Joseph Boyer (Taylor Hooker); her beloved mother, Gloria Boyer; Siblings: Samuel Boyer Jr., Ian Boyer, Mark Boyer, Alexis Boyer-James (Wilbert James), Nigel Boyer (Virnedra Boyer), Barbara Humphrey, Aisha Boyer, Hulbert Marshall (Coleen Marshall), and Pamela Ageda and Gillian “aka Debbie” McKenzie (Orin Wilson).
She also leaves behind a large and loving circle of nieces and nephews including: Alicia Boyer, Shanice Boyer, Ryan Boyer, Amanda Boyer (Eric Murphy), Alicia Boyer (aka Baby), Deshawn Boyer, Dequan “Tyreik” Boyer (Alexis Rooks), Javonte Boyer, Javon Boyer, Veronica Patrick (Christian Oliver), Calvin Burnett Jr., Yolanda Burnett, Alicia D. Burnett, Sheneca Burnett-Jefferies (Marcus Jefferies), Annick Bedford, Randy, Shamaine, Rolex, Redverse, Raphael Fordyce, Rushell Munroe, Rakeem Brandt, and Ronicka Wilson.
Her cherished great-nieces and great-nephews include: Anthony Murphy, Xavier Murphy, Aniyah Murphy, Jaslyn Boyer, Ashton Boyer, Dorian Burnett (Jasmine & Demitri Burnett), Shontall Cannings, Calvin Burnett III, Michael X. Jones, Kazia King, Kyia King, Kamya Griffen, Kayan Lion, and Kerith Lion. She also leaves behind her beloved goddaughter, Nilo.
Jennifer was affectionately known as “The Aunt of All Aunts” to everyone who knew and loved her. Her warmth, humor, generosity, and nurturing spirit extended far beyond family, as she lovingly embraced many other nieces and nephews throughout her life, including Silo, Bunny, and Trevor.
She will also be fondly remembered by her Brooklyn crew: Monique Tappin, Gillian Thomas, Joy Thomas, Mark Thomas, Gail Lyte, Kivona, Shaniyah, Jaden, AJ, Treyshun, Tyrel, Angeleek, Terrence, Anthony, Chris, Tina, Alicia, and Julissa.
Jennifer leaves to mourn a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and lifelong friends, including Nancy Angall & family, Grace Douglas & family, Lydia Joe & family, Meghan Conway & family, Patricia Watson & family, Fred Tedemarcus Wills & family, Bridget, Debbie, Prixie, Lawrence, Sharon, Judy, Nurlene Bernard and Janet.
Though Jennifer has departed this earthly life, her love, laughter, strength, and beautiful spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
