John Ferraro passed away peacefully on May 6, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
John lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to his family, and an unwavering willingness to help others. Throughout his career, he wore many hats, most notably his two entrepreneurial endeavors, landscape design / landscaping, and his FedEx route. No matter what he did, John took pride in his work and approached it with dedication and integrity.
John proudly served his country in the United States Army with the 1st Infantry Division as a Combat Engineer during the Vietnam War. His service reflected the quiet strength and sense of duty that remained with him throughout his life.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Theresa Ferraro (née Novellino), whom he married in October 1967. Together they built a loving family and shared nearly six decades of marriage. He was a devoted father to Janine, John, and Daniel, and a proud and loving grandfather to Giavanna, Gregory, Jack, Angelina, Angelo, and Stefania.
To his grandchildren, he was simply “Papa” - a title he cherished deeply. Whether it was a recital, concert, sporting event, scout meeting, practice, or a train pick-up, John was always there. If someone asked, “Dad, can you…?” the answer was always “Yes.” His family could always count on him.
John will be remembered for his warm smile, sunny disposition, huge laugh, generosity, and the steady presence he brought to the lives of those around him. He leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and countless memories that will continue to bring comfort and laughter for years to come.
