John J. Thomas III

John J. Thomas III of Patchogue, formerly of West Babylon, passed away at the age of 71 on February 21, 2026. He is predeceased by his wife Carmen Espada-Thomas. Born to John J Thomas, Jr and Eileen Thomas and raised in Deer Park. Survived by his siblings Ellen Reichert, Debra Randone, Lynn Flanagan, Brian Thomas, Robert Thomas, and Mark Thomas, and two stepchildren, Athena Santora, and Antione Thompson. Predeceased by his sisters Teresa Winkelman, Claire Markey, and Karen Jepson.

John spent many years in the printing business, following in the footsteps of his Father and Grandfather. In later years he especially enjoyed driving a school bus for special needs children.

John was very athletic, loved sports and played softball on multiple leagues well into his adulthood. John also enjoyed music and dancing and frequently attended concerts. He went dancing often which was how he met his wife Carmen. They continued to love to go dancing throughout their marriage.
