John "Jack" Newman

d. January 23, 2024

John Arthur “Jack” Newman, 66, of Centereach, NY, passed away on January 23, 2024, after a
long illness.
Jack was born on August 9, 1957, to Arthur and Mary Newman of Deer Park, NY. After
graduating from Deer Park High School in 1975, Jack pursued a number of successful business
ventures, including his most recent ownership of Oasis Irrigation. He also spent many hours
volunteering at the Save the Animals Rescue Foundation in Middle Island, NY.
Jack met the love of his life, Debra “Deb” Masino, while they were neighbors. Deb walked past
his home every day on the way to tend her horses and was captivated by the sound of Jack
playing his saxophone. Their initial conversation quickly followed. Jack and Deb married in
September 1990 and have been together for an amazing 33-plus years.
Together, Jack and Deb created a mini farm in Centereach that included a beautiful home,
gorgeous flower gardens, a huge barn that they built together, and even a turtle sanctuary and
bird habitat. Those of us who love Jack are imagining the Rainbow Bridge in Heaven crowded
with the animals he loved and supported over the years.
Jack was predeceased by his parents and parents-in-law, and will be lovingly remembered by his
wife, Deb; his sister-in-law, Janet Masino and her daughter Cadie; brother-in-law Robert and his
wife Cindy; his four sisters and their spouses, Diane Sullivan (Dennis), Patricia “Patty” Bo
(Richie), Theresa Newman (Charlie Clotfelter), and Marianne Kinane (Rich); and his many
nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. Jack never met a stranger, so others
unknown to us will also share in the memories.
