Reilly, John “Jack” of Smithtown, formerly of Huntington, NY on February 22, 2016 in his 85th year. His loving family was his greatest joy. Beloved and adoring husband of Marion for 60 years. Cherished father of Susan Rowland (Jim), Karen Petriano (Tom), Donna Ribaudo (Tom), Heidi Boes (Greg), and Kelli Benedik (Brian). Predeceased by infant son John Jr. Devoted grandfather of 9 and step grandfather of 4. Loving brother of Joseph. Served his country bravely as a proud United States Marine in the Korean War. Rescued many as a lifeguard at Coney Island, Rockaway and Gilgo Beaches. Teacher of English for 36 years in Oceanside and South Huntington school districts. Upon retiring, Jack graduated from the Pastoral Formation Institute and ministered to home bound patients and many others in the oncology ward at Huntington Hospital. He was also a Third Order Franciscan and Knight of Columbus. We were blessed with his kindness, generosity, sense of humor, unfailing support and the strong faith he shared with us. Although we mourn his passing, we know there is great joy in heaven as he is reunited with the many friends and loved ones that have gone before him.
