Joseph McCrain Jr.

Joseph McCrain of Coram, New York passed away at the age of 89 on July 6, 2024. He proudly served as an aircraft mechanic in the United States Air Force with an eighteen month tour in Japan. He worked in the aircraft industry as a quality control inspector for Fairchild Republic in Farmingdale and then for Parker Hannifin in Hauppauge for a total of thirty-seven years. He is the beloved husband of Joyce Pineau McCrain. They raised a loving family on Long Island. He is the father of Joseph (Lisa), Joyce Ann, and Jerard (Margaret). He is the adored & loving grandfather to seven grandchildren: Joseph McCrain (Kristen), Melissa McCrain, Kevin Perlow, Ryan McCrain, Kristen Perlow, Sean McCrain, Aidan McCrain & one great-granddaughter, Morgan Elizabeth McCrain. Joe was born in the Bronx, New York & is the son of Grace Enright McCrain & Joseph McCrain Sr. He was the ninth child of twelve siblings. He is survived by his sisters, Lois Ozga & Dorothy Pierce, as well as many nieces & nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings: William McCrain, Eileen Baer, Grace Calvano, Patricia Stone, Joan McCrain, Catherine Traylor, James McCrain, Edward McCrain & Thomas McCrain. The family will receive visitors on Monday, July 15th from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm at Moloney's Funeral Home, 523 Route 112, Port Jefferson Station, New York. On Tuesday, July 16th, mass will be at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 134 Middle Country Road, Coram, New York at 9:30 am with internment at Calverton National Cemetery in Wading River, New York.
