It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Rivellese who left us peacefully on June 13, 2025. Born in Brooklyn, NY, on July 10, 1930, he was the son of Oreste and Emma Rivellese. Joseph was the cherished brother of Rose, Irene, Ralph, and Robert.
Joseph was a proud U.S. Army Veteran, serving his country with honor. He was the devoted husband of Julia for 74 years, and loving father to his daughter, Carol Warren, and her husband, Fred Warren, He was also the loving father of his late son, Ron Rivellese, and his wife Barbara Rivellese, now Barbara Sciola married to Mark Sciola.
He was a proud grandfather to Danielle Rivellese, and her husband, Nick Saffioti, and Jacquelyn Kopp, and her husband, Kevin Kopp. Joseph was also the great-grandfather of Emma, Anthony, and Milo.
Additionally, he was the step-grandfather to Christine Ramich, and her husband, Michael Ramich, Michael Warren and his wife, Tara Warren, and Timothy Warren and his wife Kristin Warren. He was also the step-great-grandfather to James, Catherine, Elizabeth, Nolan, Wyatt, Eden, Jack, Olivia, Andrew and Grace.
He was the proud uncle of many nieces and nephews who loved and cherished him.
Throughout his life, Joseph dedicated himself to his family, friends and career. For much of his career, Joseph served as Long Island district manager for A S Beck Shoe Corporation. Later, as a respected commercial real estate broker, he enjoyed blending his enthusiasm for the business world with his natural gift for social connection.
An avid boater, Joseph enjoyed spending time on the water, embracing his passion for the sea and spending time with his many lifelong friends on E Dock. His warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion touched everyone he knew. Whether through his professional accomplishments or his love of adventure, Joseph’s legacy of integrity and love will be remembered forever. He was a special person and will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
