Karl Glaser was born in Augsburg, Germany, on December 31, 1942, to Karl and Maria Glaser. Eventually, his family settled in Hauenstein, Germany, where he would live until he immigrated to the United States on January 14, 1962, seeking the "American Dream." He was the only member of his family to ever immigrate to the United States. Karl met Monika Kreutle, and they married on March 13, 1966, purchasing their first and only home in Ronkonkoma, where they still reside. Karl worked his way up from laborer to managing supervisor to purchasing agent with Con Edison, the first laborer to do so, and upon his retirement, he was hired as a consultant by Orion Power Generation of Astoria, Queens, retiring in 2002. On October 10, 2000, the Steuben Association of Suffolk County Police Inc. voted Karl "Man of the Year" for "personifying the ideals of the Steuben Association and his German roots with dignity, perseverance, and humility." Karl loved playing golf, traveling to his hometown, Hauenstein, Germany, and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife Monika, his children Carl (Deborah) Glaser, Elke (Craig) Connor, and Sandra (Gary) Christen, his grandchildren Carl Jr., JT, Dianna, Jackie, Craig Jr., Cassidy, Xavier, and Bella, his brother Wolfgang (Andrea), his sister Marianne, and his furry grandchildren, Wyatt, Ryder, and Rocky. He would often say, "Great country, America; I think I'll stay awhile," and that he did!!!
