Lana Reiner Revere of Manorville, New York, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, at the age of 81. She was born on August 15, 1944, on the Lower East Side of Manhattan to her parents, Louis and Jean Reiner.
In 1971, Lana moved to Farmingdale, New York with Gerald Petry, where they raised their two beautiful daughters, Tracey and Kara. In November of 2001, she met the love of her life, her Joe. They married in 2006 and built a life filled with joy, companionship, and countless cherished routines; they were inseparable. Together, they loved taking long walks, traveling, and sharing an afternoon cocktail. Lana cherished walking across the Brooklyn Bridge for pizza at Grimaldi’s, attending Wednesday matinees on Broadway followed by pasta at Becco’s, and spending winters in Jupiter, Florida, where she walked daily to her favorite bench and enjoyed happy hour at her beloved Dive Bar.
Lana’s greatest joy was her four grandchildren, Marissa, Mark, Emily, and Zachary. Known lovingly to them as “Lani,” she never missed a school play, graduation, dance recital, birthday party, holiday celebration, or even a FaceTime call. She had a special way of making each of them feel deeply seen and loved, often telling them how “clever” they were — her affectionate way of expressing how smart and capable she knew them to be.
She held her lifelong friends close, and loved her family with unmatched devotion and care. Lana lived a healthy, active life, exercising daily, always eating “light,” and reminding everyone around her to get outside, breathe in the fresh air, and enjoy the sunshine. She sang silly songs passed down through generations and taught those she loved everything they needed to know about life, especially how to love deeply and generously.
Lana is survived by her beloved husband, Joe Revere; her daughters and sons-in-law, Tracey and Howard, and Kara and Drew; and her loving grandchildren, Marissa, Emily, and Zachary. She was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Jean Reiner, and her beloved grandson, Mark Eric.
The family will hold a private celebration of life. Those wishing to honor Lana’s memory may make a donation in her name to ALS United Greater New York at ALS-ny.org.
The family will sit shiva on Sunday, January 4, 2026, from 1:00–6:00 p.m. at the home of Drew and Kara Palazzotto, 148 Vanderbilt Blvd., Oakdale, NY 11769.
