Lawrence Allen Schultz

Larry Schultz, beloved husband to Patricia, beloved father to Larry Jr. & Kerri, beloved father-in law to Lori & Rocco and proud Papa to Ryan & Valentina, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026, at the age of 84 . Larry was surrounded by his family and friends at the time of his passing.

Larry was born on October 31, 1941 in Ozone Park Queens, New York. As a young child Larry moved with his family (Abraham & Catherine) from Ozone Park Queens to Deer Park, New York. Shortly after his marriage to Patricia, they moved to Selden, New York. Larry lived in Selden for 50 years, where along with his wife, they raised their children.

Larry had a management career in retail that spanned six decades. During this span, Larry made lifelong connections & memories that people will cherish forever.

Larry had many passions in life, none of them would top being a proud Papa to his grandchildren, Ryan & Valentina. Papa never missed one of Ryan's baseball or basketball games, he was his #1 fan and team photographer. He enjoyed talking sports with Ryan, seeking his advice for weekly football picks and debating who was the greatest Yankee of all-time. Larry without debate stated the greatest player of all time was Mickey Mantle (#7), and the proof was in his wallet - a cherished picture of Larry and Mick taken at a sports memorabilia show. Larry adored walks with Valentina, proudly holding her hand as they walked the neighborhood looking at flowers, picking up coins and other treasures from the ground and stopping for ice cream from Mr. Softee.

When Larry was not playing Papa to Ryan & Valentina, he enjoyed being an avid sports fan. He loved many teams (New York Yankees, San Francisco Giants, New York Jets, San Francisco 49'ers, Brooklyn Nets, New York Islanders) and could quote all their stats. Larry also enjoyed playing lotto, golfing with buddies, local stops at OTB, watching movies, collecting sports memorabilia with his son Larry, attending live sporting events, taking trips to local eateries with Pat, and an occasional trip to a local casino. His hidden joy was an annual trip with his daughter to the gambling capital of the world – Sin City, Las Vegas NV.

Larry enjoyed being around friends and family, which was noticeably clear and important to him. Whether he was eating a 7/11 big bite, a Wendy's cheeseburger, a blueberry muffin or a three course meal from a 5-star restaurant, it did not matter. What was important to him was the company and connections, not the activity.

Larry will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his wit, charm, love and laughter he brought to everyone around him. He taught us that life's simple pleasures are its greatest treasures and should be cherished and not be overlooked by the hustle of life.
