IN LOVING MEMORY OF LOIS ANNE MELOE

It is wit a heavy heart that we announce the unexpected passing of Lois Ann Meloe on June 1, 2026 at the age of 77. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and friend.

Born in Brooklyn, New York to Barbara Hartford and Louis Brana. As a young child her family moved to California. After passing of her father the family moved back to Long Island. Here, Lois and her siblings were raised by her mother whose life was centered on love, life and faith. This is where Lois formed her values and loving spirit for life and family.

She was the devoted wife of Bernard Meloe with whom she shared an extraordinary 56 years of marriage. Her daughter Jeanine was the apple of her eye. Grandchildren Ally and Tristen who she adored. She was deeply in love with her sister Pat, brothers Rick and Steve. She cherished her relationship and devotion as the aunt to Jeff, Stevie, Eric, Christina, Jason and Michael. Lois also loved her dogs Fluffy Joe, Bailey and Kacy all West Highland White Terriers.

As well as working hard in her career as an AFL/CIO secretary/Treasurer for a local garment workers union and later for the IRS as an Offer & Compromise Officer she was a talented crafter. Quilting and crocheting became her passion. One of her family’s most reassured memories was receiving a gift of a quilt or a crocheted piece that Lois created.

She played an instrumental role in showering her daughter, grandchildren, sister and brothers, nephews, nieces with love, guidance, support and treasured memories that will carry with them forever.

Lois’s legacy is one of selfless love, unwavering devotion, generosity and strength. She leaves behind a family strengthened by her example and countless lives enriched by her friendship, wisdom, humor and compassion.

Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in knowing that her love will continue to live on through her family and all those fortunate enough to have known her.

Some people come into our lives, leave footprints on our hearts and we are never, ever the same.

She will be deeply misses, forever loved, and always remembered.
