Loretta "Loret" Bengtson

Bengtson, Loretta “Loret” of Centereach, NY passed away peacefully at home on November 4, 2022 at the age of 81. She is survived by her children Erin (Michael), Erik (Anabella) and Cort and two grandchildren, Raul Mendez (Diana) and Alexandria Bengtson.

Loret resided with her immediate family in Centereach though her reach was felt far and wide by the numerous people she helped in her lifetime. Loret worked as a Home Economist for Women’s Day Magazine. She also contributed her skills and time to Creative Ministries Performing Art Center and the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (??) in teaching classes and as a member of the church choir. Through her everyday actions, Loret lived with unshakable faith in God demonstrating kindness, love, inclusivity and generosity. Her baking and cooking raised thousands for charity and created millions of memories for countless families. What Loret leaves behind is not what is engraved on stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others. Loret’s memory will be etched in our hearts forever and we feel blessed to have been part of an extradorinaiy life. Rest in Piece our Shinning Light.
