Lori Jean Gentzlinger

Lorijean Gentzlinger, 58, of Medford, passed away July 5, 2020. Lori often referred to herself as “The Beast”. After two long years of fighting and never giving up, even “The Beast” needed to rest.

Lorijean was born to the late Harold and Blanche Scharfenberg, July 25, 1961. She is survived by her loving older sister: Patti Ann Brady.

There was nothing that Lorijean could not achieve. She was a self-employed commercial embroiderer, yoga instructor, minister, mountain climber, artist and designer. Her proudest accomplishment was being the mother of two boys: Peter and Matthew and a grandmother to three: Tyler, Madison and Faith.

A viewing ceremony will be held on Friday, July 10, 2020 at 4 p.m. at Moloney’s Funeral Home in Lake Ronkonkoma. In lieu of flowers, the family asks a donation be made to her GoFundMe page. Donations will be used to purchase compression socks for the healthcare professionals that guided Lori throughout her journey.
